Type data. Holotype, female, Fengyangshan National Nature Reserve (27°53´N, 119°11´E, altitude 1510m), Longquan City, Zhejiang Province, China, 29–Jul.–2007, from Ferrocalamus strictus Hsueh et Keng f. ( Poaceae ), collected by Guoquan Wang. Paratypes, 5 females and 1 male, mounted on 6 slides, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. The mites are vagrant on the undersurfaces of the leaves, no visible damage.

Etymology. The specific designation is derived from the generic name of the type host plant.

Notes. The species is close to A. bambusae Kuang & Zhao 1998 , but can be separated from the latter by the distal pedipalp tibio-tarsus attenuate and finger-like, the coxal area with granules, and seta h1 present. In A. bambusae , the pedipalp is normal, the coxal area with short lines, and seta h1 absent ( Kuang & Zhao 1998).
