Taxonomic remarks. The male specimen resembles Neophisis (Indophisis) longipennis as described by Jin (1992), particularly by the key diagnostic characters: the cephalic lobe of the epiphallus with lateral margins denticulate, parallel and narrowing at the apical third into a subacute apex; the ventral phallomere with divided apices; the cercus flattened and abruptly bent in the middle and with a small node basally; the 10 th abdominal tergite with the two lateral lobes narrowly separated from the middle truncated part; the posterior end of the subgenital plate angularly emarginated in the middle; the general shape of paraproct; and the mirror area of the FW with a relatively small oblique dark patch.

Distribution. Borneo: Kalimantan, Sabah (Mount Silam) [new locality record]

Type locality. INDONESIA, Kalimantan “Indonesia: Midden [= Central] Borneo”

Calling song (1♂, 21.6°C, in the laboratory). The calling song consists of isolated echemes. Each echeme, which has an average duration of 90.1±5.0 ms (82.1–96.6 ms), is made up of two closely-spaced syllables. Each syllable begins with a pulse, followed by a short interval and then ends with 10–12 rapid-decay pulses. The first syllable [52.0±3.5 ms (44.5–53.4 ms)] is typically longer in duration than the second syllable [35.4±3.6 ms (31.5– 41.3 ms)]. For the first syllable, the initial pulse has a duration of 16.3±2.8 ms (10.7–18.7 ms), followed by an interval with a duration of 4.8±0.7 ms (4.0–5.8 ms). The final part of the syllable, made up of the rapid-decay pulses, has a duration of 30.4±0.9 ms (28.9–31.0 ms). For the second syllable, the initial pulse has a shorter duration of 8.8±1.1 ms (7.1–10.0 ms), followed by an interval with a shorter duration of 2.0±0.4 ms (1.5–2.7 ms). The final part of the second syllable, also made up of the rapid-decay pulses, has a duration of 24.5±2.9 ms (21.0–29.7 ms). The number of rapid-decay pulses in the first syllable is always equal or more than that in the second syllable. The last rapiddecay pulse [2.7±0.2 ms (2.5–2.8 ms)] has a distinctly longer duration than the other rapid-decay pulses [0.5±0.1 ms (0.4–0.7 ms)]. The average interval between the rapid-decay pulses is 1.6±0.5 ms (1.1–2.6 ms). The call spectrum has a peak frequency of 36.6±0.2 kHz (36.3–366.8 kHz), and the two parts of each syllable have very similar peak frequency. Likewise, the spectral entropy is 0.73±0.01 (0.71–0.75), with the two parts of each syllable having very similar entropy.
