REMARKS
Gagnepain (1929) identified Magnolia echinina P.Parm. as belonging to Unona discolor Vahl. This lead allowed me to track down the type and confirm that Gagnepain was correct, though the accepted name for this species is now Desmos chinensis Lour. (Annonaceae) .
