Eumenes Hessei Giordani Soika 1944: 162 View in CoL , ♀, ♂ (in subgenus Zetheumenidion )—“ Namaqualand: Bowesdorp” (lectotype female MSNVE).
Diagnosis. Distinguished from all other Zetheumenidion species by the shiny and wide interspaces on mesosoma exceeding the puncture diameter, the deep punctures on whole surface of T2, and the apical lamella of T2 strongly reflexed and exceeding the height of the preapical swelling ( Fig. 6E View FIGURE 6 ).
Material examined. LECTOTYPE OF EUMENES HESSEI : ♀ labeled “Bowesdorp / Namaqualand / Museum Staff / Nov. 1931 // South African Museum. / Cape Town No.38 // HOLOTYPUS / Hessei n.sp. / A. Giordani Soika ” ( MSNVE). SOUTH AFRICA: Cape of Good Hope, 1♂ ( MSNVE, paralectotype of Eumenes hessei ).

Notes. Giordani Soika labeled the female type as “ holotype ” but it is in fact the lectotype, as designated by Giordani Soika (1973) himself.
