Head about as long as wide; coarsely punctate; clypeus short and arcuately expanded anteriorly; frons slightly expanded; vertex weakly convex, vertexal foveae connected by short U-shaped sulcus; postgenae slightly narrowed; gula with single median fovea. Eyes convex and ovoid. Antennae (Fig. 5) with antennomeres VII–VIII protrude laterally, IX strongly expanded laterally, with tuft of short setae at basolateral margin. Maxillary palpi short, palpomeres I minute, II elongate, expanded at apical 2/3, III slightly longer than wide, subcylindrical, IV largest, fusiform.
Pronotum slightly wider than long, disc coarsely punctate medially and smooth laterally; median and lateral longitudinal sulci and lateral antebasal foveae present; both inner and outer pair of basolateral foveae present. Elytra, meso- and metathorax similar to those of T. pharelatus . Mesotibiae (Fig. 8) lacking spines.
Abdomen covered with setae, tergite VIII rounded posteriorly, sternite VIII transverse, sternite IX well sclerotized and broad. Aedeagus ( Figs. 11, 14 View FIGURES 9 – 14 ) asymmetric, ventral lobe broad in lateral view, dorsal apophysis elongate and slender apically.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Southwest China: Yunnan Province.
Remarks. This species can be separated from the other Chinese congeners by the uniquely modified antennomeres VII–IX and the structure of the aedeagus.
Etymology. The word ‘shuixiu’ means long flowing silk inner sleeves, referring to the form of the dorsal apophysis of aedeagus. The species name is a combination of ‘ shuixiu ’ and Latin suffix ‘ -fer ’ meaning ‘carrying’.
