Material. GZG.W.18932 (30132) ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ).
Remarks. Gersdorf (1976) identified this specimen as Staphylininae gen. sp. Specimen GZG.W.18932 can be assigned to the subfamily Tachyporinae because of the limuloid body shape with broad pronotum and elytra, the tapering abdomen, antennal insertions exposed, located anterior to an imaginary line drawn between anterior edges of eyes.. It is tentatively assigned to the genus Tachinus based on the overall habitus similarity, indistinct neck constriction, elongate antennomeres and distinctive shape of the apical abdominal segment. Species delimitation of Tachinus relies on examination of the male or female genitalia or shape of the apical segment of the abdomen. Unfortunately, the apical segments of the abdomen are not well enough preserved, otherwise species identification might be possible in this specimen.
Species of Tachinus occur in soil and leaf litter, on carrion, excrement, fungi and other decaying matter of all kinds. Some species are common in open habitats.
