Generitype of Blechnum Linnaeus (vide Smith, Hist. File. 300. 1875).
Current name: Blechnum occidentale L. View in CoL ( Blechnaceae ).
Note: Linnaeus evidently transposed the epithets “occidentale” and “orientale” in describing his two species of Blechnum in 1753.
