Hymenophyllopsis hymenophylloides Gómez (1973: 103) View in CoL . Type: VENEZUELA, Bolívar, Cerro Venamo, 1500 m, Steyermark & Dunsterville 92584 (holotype F, not seen), paratype: Steyermark & Dunsterville 92730 ( US!) .
Distribution: Venezuela (Amazonas, Bolívar), Brazil (Amazonas), 750–1850 m.
Characteristics: Together with the somewhat similar C. incognita , this species differs from other members of Cyathea subg. Hymenophyllopsis by having thin (0.25–0.50 mm thick) petioles. Cyathea hymenophylloides differs from C. incognita in having 0.25–0.50 mm wide segments and more dissected leaves.
