Hymenophyllopsis steyermarkii Vareschi (1966: 89) View in CoL . Type: VENEZUELA, Bolívar, between Bluff Camp and low promontory north of Bluff Camp, along west-facing portion of Chimantá-Tepui (Torono-Tepui), 1600–1700 m, Steyermark 75644 (holotype VEN, isotypes F!, NY!, US!). A new name is chosen because of the existence of Cyathea steyermarkii Tryon (1972: 449) View in CoL .

Distribution: Venezuela (Amazonas, Bolívar), lithophytic on shaded cliffs and boulders, 1600–2700 m. Characteristics: Differs little from C. dejecta , but can be easily distinguished from this species by its lustrous, 1.5–2 mm long, entire scales.
