Diplotrichus pygmaeus ( Schedl, 1965) , new combination in Jordal, 2021b, syn. nov.

Type material. Paratype, female: Madagascar, Faux-Cap , XII.1951, A.R. [ NHMW] . Holotype, male of Lanurgus pygmaeus : Madagascar, Ambila , 28.XI.1952, Dr K.E. Schedl [ NHMW] .

Diagnosis. Length 0.9–1.0 mm, 2.1–2.2 × long as wide; colour dark brown to black. Elytra granulated, rugose; interstrial setae spatulate, spaced within rows by their length. Female frons flattened, finely setose, male frons convex, glabrous; antennal club with two procurved sutures. Protibiae with two apical denticles.

Distribution. Madagascar. Types of the two described species are from the south and south-eastern part of the country.

Remarks. The type of D. pygmaeus is poorly preserved, covered partly in glue. Body proportions and shape, tibiae, and cuticular structures of pronotum and elytra are identical to D. rugosipes . Differences observed in the frons are inferred as typical sexual dimorphism.
