Type Locality: Haití, 4 mi. (6.4 km) east of St. Michel, cave near Atalaya plantation.

Vernacular Names: Haitian Nesophontes.

Distribution: Haití.

Conservation: IUCN – Extinct.

Discussion: Formerly occurred together with N. hypomicrus , N. micrus , Solenodon marcanoi and S. paradoxus on Hispaniola. Found in association with Rattus bones ( MacPhee et al., 1999).
