Current name: Hardella thurjii (Gray, 1831)

Syntypes (2 specimens): OUM 8433 View Materials ( Bell Collection , Catalogue of Testudinata No. 38a; shell with stuffed head, tail and all four limbs attached, SCL 35 cm) ; OUM 8434 View Materials ( Bell Collection , Catalogue of Testudinata No. 38b; whole, dried specimen, SCL 10.3 cm) .

Remarks: The dimensions of both specimens agree with those on p. 73 in Gray (1831a). Further syntypes are, according to Gray (loc. cit.), in the Natural History Museum, London.
