Orchymont (1940) mentioned that the distribution of Ochthebius atriceps Fairmaire, 1879 is from Morocco to Alexandria in Egypt. According to Jäch (1991) and Hansen (1998) this is a Maghrebinian species known from Algeria, Tunisia and also from Morocco ( Jäch 2004).
