Remarks. One female collected in the Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve shows a peculiar colour morph, previously undescribed. It has regular oblique brown lines, like zebra-stripes ( Fig. 51 View FIGURES 49–52 ). Other characters lie within those of the species.

Distribution. V. obesa is known from Cameroon, CAR, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast; it seems to be widely distributed throughout Central Africa ( Brunner von Wattenwyl 1891, Bolívar 1906, Griffini 1906, 1908, Ragge 1968, Naskrecki 2009, Massa 2013).
