Type locality. Port Natal [Durban, South Africa] .
Type material. Holotype in NHMUK, examined.
Distribution. Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Uganda, Congo, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire ( Pinhey 1979; Vári et al. 2002; Yakovlev 2011). New record for Burundi.
Material examined: 61 ♂, 5 ♀, Urundi, Kitega , 19.01.1966, Dr. Fontaine ; 19 ♂, Urundi, Usumbura , 900 m, 15.11.1961, Dr. Fontaine ; 1 ♂, Burundi, Gitega, 27.10.1967, Dr. Fontaine .
