Lestes forficula (Rambur, 1842) View in CoL

We found this common lestid species on St. Thomas at Mahogany Run ponds, Bolongo pond, and Fortuna pond. Donnelly (2002) and Platenberg (2006) document that this species is common in the Virgin Islands around freshwater ponds and ghuts. It is broadly distributed along Central and South America ( Davies and Tobin 1984; Steinmann et al. 1997).
