Callibaetis floridanus (Banks, 1900) View in CoL

This genus is one of the most ubiquitous batids in the Americas. We collected nymphs very commonly across St. Thomas from quiet pools in ponds, road ruts, table drains, and even quiet pools in ghuts and brackish pools above estuaries. This species is reported specifically from St. Croix and Cuba (with a possible record from Puerto Rico), and generally from Florida south to Costa Rica ( Lugo-Ortiz and McCafferty 1996). These are the first records of this species from St. Thomas.
