Diagnosis. Atholus philippinensis can be recognized for its long and almost complete external subhumeral striae.
Distribution. India: Meghalaya, Myanmar, Vietnam, China: Hainan, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia: Greater Sunda (Sumatra, Java and Borneo Islands) ( Fig. 11B View Fig ).
Remark. Among the Indonesian Atholus , this species is by far the largest in size.
