Genus diagnosis. Body with long pile; eye bare, contiguous in males; face black, concave and bare; gena bare; anterior anepisternum bare; katepisternum with two separate dorsal and ventral patches of pile; metasternum weakly developed and bare; subscutellar fringe present; cell r1 open; cross vein r-m located beyond middle of discal cell (dm); distal section of vein R4+5 at most 1/3 as long as humeral cross vein (h); hind femur unarmed; abdomen entirely black coloured.
