Owl Creek, near Ripley, Tippah County, Mississippi, USA; stratum: "dark gray sandy marl" (Owl Creek Formation); age: Cretaceous.

Type material.

Holotype, IPANSP 18924 ( Conrad 1860: pl. 46, fig. 27; as “type” in Richards 1968: 120).

Current taxonomic status.
