Type material. Described from inexplicit number of syntypes. Type locality. “ Sulu Islands ”. Type specimens. Lectotype ♂ ( NMPC): “ Sulu Isl. [h] \ TYPUS [p] [red label] \ Agrilus atratulus m. Type [h] Det. Dr Obenberger [p]” . Lectotype designated by Jendek (2012).

Examined specimens. PHILIPPINES. 1 ♀ ( EJCB): “ Dapitan Mindanao Baker ”. Distribution. Philippines (Mindanao).

Remarks. The male sex of the lectotype declared by Jendek (2012) needs verification. Neither description nor image of lectotype ( Fig. 4A ) reveals whether the species has apex of metatibiae with cluster of setae. The species can be distinguished from all members of the A. humilis species–group by the larger body (5.5 mm) and by strikingly tapering distal part.
