Oscinella giabrina Becker, 1924: 122 . Type locality: China: Taiwan, Chipchip.

Description. Head black ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 6–11 ), 0.8 times as long as high in profile; face yellow, distal 1/4 of frons yellow, frons

1.4 times as long as wide; gena yellow with ventral margin black, broad, as wide as first flagellomere; ocellar triangle smooth, shiny, apex yellow, reaching anterior 3/4 of frons, with pointed apex. Antenna entirely black; first flagellomere 1.5 times as long as wide; arista black with short black pubescence. Proboscis brown, palpus yellowish brown. Scutum black, 1.3 times as long as wide. Thoracic pleuron shiny brown with a longitudinal yellow stripe running from lower 1/2 of postpronotal lobe to wing base. Scutellum black, 0.6 times as long as wide. Coxae and trochanters yellow, femora and tibiae brown except for distal tips of femora and basal tips of tibiae yellow, fore tarsus brown, mid and hind tarsi yellowish brown with tarsomeres 4–5 brown. Wing hyaline, 2.8 times as long as wide; veins brown. Relative lengths of 2nd: 3rd: 4th costal sections = 6: 1.5: 1. Halter pale yellow. Abdomen brown but yellow basally. Male genitalia ( Figs. 35 View FIGURES 32–37 , 41 View FIGURES 38–43 ): Epandrium brown, height 1.7 times width in lateral view; bearing a very long apical process, projected ventrally; cercus broad, as long as wide; surstylus peculiar, divided into two lobes, dorsal lobe short, broadened, with few short spinous setae on surface of middle part and with long thick setae on distal portion, ventral lobe elongate, slender, with some short setulae on inner side of distal portion.

Female. Body length 2.4–2.7 mm, wing length 2.5–2.8 mm. External characteristics similar to male.

Specimens examined. 47 ♂♂, 35 ♀♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Hekou, Nanxi , 22. V. 2009, Guoquan Wang Leg. ( HZAU), specimens were stored in 75% ethanol ; 1 ♂, CHINA, Yunnan, Zhaotong, Apple orchard, 18. IX. 2009, Tingting Zhang Leg. ( CAU) (photo and abdomen dissected), specimen dry mounted on label laterally on right thorax .

Distribution. China (Yunnan, Taiwan).

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to D. phyllostachyus Kanmiya, 1971 , but can be separated from the latter by the ocellar triangle reaching anterior 3/4 of frons, antenna entirely black and surstylus divided two lobes, dorsal lobe short, broadened, ventral lobe elongate, slender. In D. phyllostachyus , the ocellar triangle reaches the anterior margin of frons; the antenna is yellow with the first flagellomere partly yellow; and the surstylus is gently broadened basally, suddenly narrowed at middle and curved in a S-shaped form ( Kanmiya 1971).
