Distribution. Andalusia, Spain.

Remarks. Carabajal Márquez et al. (2011) described the closely related species Neobisium (O.) perezi and Neobisium (O.) gev from small samples. The differences they used to separate them were: chelal hand widest proximad of middle, ratio trichobothria ib – ist / ist– apex 1.47–1.57 in N. (O.) perezi , as opposed to chelal hand widest at middle, ratio trichobothria ib – ist / ist– apex 1.21 in N. (O.) gev , as well as the different chelal ratios.

Analysis of a large sample of specimens from the type localities of both species and other caves of the same municipality shows a high variability in the chelal ratios, which overlaps the published data of both species. The same applies to the widest part of the chelal hand, which show subtle variations between individuals in the same cave, and to the ratio ib – ist / ist– apex. In conclusion, the two species are here considered to be subjective synonyms. As first revisers, we give N. (O.) perezi precedence over N. (O.) gev .

The female specimen from Cueva Secreta del Poyo Manquillo, presents slightly lower pedipalpal ratios than the other populations. We tentatively assign this specimen to N. (O.) perezi until new specimens are collected in that cave to allow a better comparison.
