Material examined. Argentina, Tucumán, Dpto. Tafí Viejo, El Cadillal , 27.VIII.2018, cols. S. Córdoba and E . Mendoza (1, IFML). New country record .

Distribution. Argentina: Tucumán (Dpto. Tafí Viejo); South America: Brazil, Chile and Uruguay ( Flechtmann & Cognato 2011; Gómez et al. 2017; Kirkendall 2018).

Comments. This species is the same species identified as “ Amasa truncatus Erichson ” from Brazil by Flechtmann and Cognato (2011), Uruguay ( Gómez et al. 2017), and Chile ( Kirkendall 2018). More recently it has been shown that while this is an introduced species of Amasa , the species is currently undescribed ( Barnouin et al. 2020). The identification was based on direct comparison with specimens cited by Flechtman and Cognato by the second author. There are no native species in this genus from the Americas.
