Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Yemen ( Bingham 1898 as Sceliphron violaceum (Fabricius, 1775) ; Kirby 1903 as S. violaceum ; Kohl 1906 as Sceliphron bengalensis Dahlbom, 1845 ; Bohart & Menke 1976).
Extralimital distribution: Australia, Bangladesh, Borneo, Burma, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Hawaii, Himalayas, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Laos,?
