Genus Patiscus Stål, 1877

Patiscus Stål, 1877 , Defv. Vet. Akad. Forh. 34:51; Chopard, 1969, Fauna India Grylloidea, 2: 400; Yang and Yang, 2012, Zootaxa, 3226:12.

Type species: Euscirtus (Patiscus) dorsalis Stål, 1877 .

Diagnosis (Stål, 1877). General shape similar to Euscyrtus , but head elongated and usually narrow with long rostrum; eyes horizontally lengthened. Tegmina reaching up to the 4 th to 7 th abdominal segments, veins parallel, longitudinal; transverse veinlets forming square shaped areolae. Hind wings are short, not much longer than the tegmina.

Composition: The generic name Patiscus was established by C. Stål, 1877 for the first time with Euscirtus (Patiscus) dorsalis Stål, 1877 as the type species by original designation. At present, it includes 11 species ( Cigliano et al., 2020) given below:
