15. Cheumatopsyche digitata View in CoL species group

The species in this group are characterized by having a short segment X, with elongated, almost filiform, setose pair of apicoventral lobes ( Fig. 15), or with a group of lobes. One species, C. simplex Kimmins from Ethiopia, has a reduced, very short segment X and no apicoventral setal lobes. The short segment X is accompanied by reduction of the apicoventral setal lobes, forming a pair of short setose processes or setose warts. This species group is morphologically close to other groups characterized by presence of a bilobed segment X. The C. digitata species group is separated from the groups having bilobed segment X by presence of a pair of much longer apicoventral setal lobes, and the shortened segment X; and the pair of wart-like, lateral setose areas are located distally on segment X. This species group is restricted to the Afrotropical region except C. thaba Mosely from Yemen and C. ernestheissi Malicky from Brunei.
