Type locality: Zaïre .

Remarks: Jacquemart (1957) considered this species to be distinct from C. digitata Mosely and described it as a new species. Kimmins (1960) also considered it distinct, based characteristics in the genitalia, mainly due to the central position of the apical lobe on segment IX. Later Marlier (1961) listed it as a possible synonym of C. digitata . Gibbs (1973) commented that C. leloupi is doubtfully distinct. We support Kimmins’ view, accepting that the position of the apical lobes dorsally on the posterior margin of segment IX is a species-specific character. Furthermore, the forewings of C. leloupi have a distinct pattern not similar to that in C. digitata ( Jacquemart 1957) . Unfortunately the type material of this species is lost (Patrick Grootaert, pers. comm.).
