Cheumatopsyche septa Oláh & Johanson , new species
Fig. 365–368
This species is similar to C. albomaculata (Ulmer) from Congo, but in lateral view segment X of C. septa is slender, not broad, and the spiny apices of the apicoventral setal lobes are situated closely together in dorsal view. The harpagones have tapering apices, not straight as in C. albomaculata . And the forewings are unformly coloured, with no white pattern.
Male. Body and wings brown, with brown pubescence; wings with no spots or pattern. Maxillary palp segment I shortest, segment II longer, segments III and IV equally long, segment V as long as sum of segments I–IV. Head dorsum brown with 7 slightly paler warts. Proepisternum without swollen setal wart. Each protibiae with 2 apical spurs. Protarsal claws asymmetrical, laterally flanked by setal bundle. Forewing length 8.0 mm, hind wing length 6.0 mm. Hind wing fork I absent. Distance between forwing crossveins m-cu and cu equal to length of crossvein m-cu.
Male genitalia. Segment IX fused annularly, broad ( Fig. 365); sternum about 2 times longer than tergum ( Fig. 365); anterior margins of segment IX convex, except nearly straight at mid-height; slightly incised dorsally and ventrally; apical lobe of segment IX very short, right-angled, located immediately above base of coxopodites; spine row on posterior margins of segment IX complete; dorsal spines originating from depression between segment IX and segment X. Intersegmental step between segment IX and segment X shallow, obtuse-angled. Segment X long, slender in lateral view ( Fig. 365), slightly tapering distad; broad, tongue- shaped in dorsal view ( Fig. 366). Lateral interlobular gaps absent. Dorsal interlobular gap minute, V-shaped ( Fig. 366). Setaless meocaudal lobe reduced. Lateral setose areas forming pair of large, elevated surfaces behind transverse and above longitudinal sutures ( Fig. 365, 366). Transverse sutures short in lateral view (not shown in figures). Longitudinal sutures well sclerotised, forming continuation of apicoventral lobes. Coxopodites robust, uniformly broadening apicad in lateral view ( Fig. 365), exceeding apex of segment X; sigmoid in ventral view ( Fig. 367). Harpagones broadly triangular in lateral view ( Fig. 365); in ventral view ( Fig. 367) slightly tapering, curving mesad. Phallotheca ( Fig. 368) archoid, gradually narrowing apicad; phallobase well developed; sclerotised endothecal process semicircular, phallotremal sclerites broad, vertical.
