Cheumatopsyche mahakaya Oláh & Johanson , new species

Fig. 301–304

This species is similar to C. bolosa , but in C. mahakaya the apex of segment X is shorter and less curved dorsad; the harpagones have drop-shaped bases with strongly laterad curving apices. In addition, segment IX has shorter apical lobes and less convex anterior margins, and the 2 pairs of setal warts on segment X are situated more distantly from each other.

Male. Body and wings light brown with brown pubescence; wings with no spots or pattern. Maxillary palp segment I shortest, segment II longer, segments III and IV equally long, segment V as long as sum of segments I–IV. Head dorsum light brown with 12 similarly coloured warts. Proepisternum without swollen setal wart. Protarsal claws asymmetrical, laterally flanked by setal bundle. Each protibiae with 2 spurs. Forewing length 10.0 mm, hind wing length 7.5 mm. Forewing crossveins m-cu and cu almost touching (in holotype and some paratypes) or tangental (in some paratypes). Hind wing fork I present.

Male genitalia. Segment IX fused annularly, short; tergum shorter than sternum ( Fig. 301); anterior margins of segment IX straight; dorsally strongly curving posterad ( Fig. 301); apical lobe on posterolateral margins long, nearly triangular, located immediately above articulation cavity of coxopodites; spine row on posterior margins of segment IX interrupted near mid-height of segment X; irregularly bent spines on dorsocaudal lobes about 2x longer than straight spines on apical lobes. Intersegmental step between segment IX and segment X sloping, occupied by pair of setose protuberances forming setose dorsocaudal lobes immediately behind segment IX. Segment X long, with dorsad curving, rounded apex in lateral view ( Fig. 301); simple, tongue-shaped in dorsal view ( Fig. 302); ventral margin slightly convex. Apicoventral setal lobes basally fused with segment X. Setaless mesocaudal lobe reduced. Dorsal interlobular gap narrow, deep. Apicoventral setal lobes with straight posterolateral margins in dorsal view ( Fig. 301). Pair of small, setose protuberances present between lateral setose areas and segment IX ( Fig. 301, 302). Transverse sutures not visible. Longitudinal sutures running along ventral part of segment X. Pair of lateral setose areas forming elevated, rounded, warts located dorsall at mid-length of segment X. Coxopodites exceeding apex of segment X; basally thin in lateral view ( Fig. 301), gradually broadening to mid-length, parallel-sided distal half; in ventral view ( Fig. 303) irregularly shaped, with broade bases and apices. Harpagones with broad bases, especially visible in ventral view ( Fig. 303), followed by strongly curving, filiform distal part. Phallothecal phallobase large ( Fig. 304), straight horizontal shaft narrowing apicad along its length in lateral view; sclerotised endothecal process circular, phallotremal sclerites nearly vertically drop-shaped in lateral view.
