8. Cheumatopsyche excisa View in CoL species group
The species in this species group have a bilobed segment X ( Fig. 8), with long apicoventral setal lobes; and the harpagones are bilobed. The species in the group are morphologically close to the species in the C. dubitans species group, from which they are easily distinguished by the bilobed harpagones. The segment X is usually bilobed; some species, i.e. C. capronita and C. carna have a plate-like setaless mesocaudal lobe with a convex apical margin in dorsal view. The apicoventral setal lobes are produced into long, straight or dorsomesad curving processes, encircling the wide and deep dorsal and lateral interlobular gaps, and dominating the apex of segment X. The pair of wart-like lateral setose areas are located centrally or distally on segment X. This group is distributed in the South-East Asian mainland and archipelagoes.
