6. Cheumatopsyche dubitans View in CoL species group
Species of this group have a bilobed segment X ( Fig. 6) with a long apicoventral lobe. Although close to species of the C. lepida species group, they are distinguished mostly by the different shape of the reduced setaless mesocaudal lobe. The 2 groups can be separated in the transitional state where the mesocaudal margins of segment X are convex, not concave or straight-cut in dorsal view, but produced into short blunt rounded ends. The basic Cheumatopsyche elements of the genitalia are present in this group. Some species, C. albofascia , C. brunnea , C. doan , C. dubitans , C. nohondoan , C. sexfasciata , and C. quadrifasciata have patterned forewing membranes and several species have fork I present in the hind wings. A few species have segment IX with a pair of ventrocaudal spiny lobes. Segment X is bilobed, and the setaless mesocaudal lobe is usually reduced. The pair of apicoventral setal lobes are produced into long processes being straight, or curving mesad in dorsal view; and straight, or curving dorsad in lateral view, encircling the wide and deep interlobular gaps in dorsal and lateral view; and dominating segment X apex. The pair of wart-like, lateral setose areas are usually located centrally or distad on segment X.
