Cheumatopsyche agnetae Oláh & Johanson , new species
Fig. 43–46
This species is similar to C. criseyde Malicky from Thailand, and C. kim Oláh & Johanson , new species from Vietnam. Cheumatopsyche agnetae is easily separated from the 2 species by the narrowly and sharply triangular setaless mesocaudal lobe on segment X being much shorter than the apicoventral lobes; these lobes dominating distal part of segment X in lateral and dorsal views. The harpagones are basally convex in ventral view as in C. criseyde , not tapering sharply as in C. kim . The shaped of segment X in dorsal view is the most striking feature of this species. Similar shape of segment X is known in C. trifasciata Li & Dudgeon from the Fujian Province in China, but that species has forewings with 3 white fasciae, and the phallic apparatus lacks the subapical ventral broadening.
Male. Body and wings brown with brown pubescence. Maxillary palp segment I shortest, segment II longer, segments III and IV equally long, segment V as long as segments I–IV together. Head dorsum darker brown, with 9 slightly lighter warts. Swollen setal warts absent from proepisternum. Protarsal claws asymmetrical, laterally flanked by setal bundle. Forewing length 6 mm, hind wing length 4.5 mm. Hind wing fork I absent.
Male genitalia. Segment IX fused annularly; tergum short, sternum 3 times longer than tergum ( Fig. 43); anterior margins of segment IX almost regularly curving in lateral view, slightly more produced ventrally ( Fig. 43); apical lobe on posterolateral margins short, located immediately above base of coxopodites ( Fig. 43), posterolateral margins nearly straight; spine row on posterior margins of segment IX continuous. Intersegmental step between segment IX and segment X short, almost absent. Segment X well developed, subquadrangular in lateral view ( Fig. 43); in dorsal view ( Fig. 44) narrowing towards mid-length before strongly widening at distal three-fourths its length, clearly trilobed in dorsal view. Setaless mesocaudal lobe narrowly triangular in dorsal view ( Fig. 44). Apicoventral setal lobes forming long, almost straight, obliquely directed and heavily sclerotised finger-like processes ( Fig. 43); geniculate in dorsal view ( Fig. 44), directed mesad, almost touching mesally. Pair of lateral setose areas forming tuboid elevated warts clearly visible in dorsal and lateral view ( Fig. 43, 44), located ventrally immediately after mid-length of segment X. Transverse and longitudinal sutures well-developed. Coxopodites slightly exceeding apex of segment X ( Fig. 43), straight, with slightly dilating apices ( Fig. 43); in ventral view ( Fig. 45) slender at mid-length, gradually dilating apically and curving mesad. Harpagones slender, gradually tapering from base into sharply dorsad pointing apices in lateral view ( Fig. 43), less pointed and curving mesad in ventral view ( Fig. 45). Phallothecal dorsum straight ( Fig. 46); sclerotised endothecal process half-ovoid; phallotremal sclerites broad, vertical in lateral view; with short, sub-apical, ventrally rounded broadening about as large as sclerotised endothecal process.
