3. Cheumatopsyche lepida View in CoL species group

Species of this group frequently have forewing patterns separating many of the species ( Fig. 29–38). The genitalia of the species resemble those of most other species in the genus, except that the characteristically trilobed segment X ( Fig. 3) has a pair of long and upcurving apicoventral lobes. Segment IX only rarely bears a ventrocaudal spiny lobe. The setaless mesocaudal lobe is well developed, triangular, rounded or quadrangular. Species having reduced setaless mesocaudal lobe, which instead forms a convex margin, are easily be mistaken for belonging to the C. dubitans species group, which species have a bilobed segment X. A pair of apicoventral setal lobes are produced into a long process being straight or curving mesad or laterad in dorsal view, and curving dorsad in lateral view; these processes encircle the wide and deep interlobular gaps in dor- sal and lateral view, while dominating the termination of segment X. A pair of wart-like, lateral setose areas, are usually located distally on segment X. The species group range covers the Oriental, West Palearctic, East Palearctic and Afrotropical biogeographic regions .
