2. Cheumatopsyche holzschuhi View in CoL species group
This species group includes species with elongating appendages or processes on segment IX or segment X ( Fig. 2). Usually, tergum IX or only the apicolateral corner of tergum IX and the apicodorsal and apicoventral setal lobes on segment X are elongated. It is impossible at present to homologise the dorsal elongating lobes. They might form an elongation of tergum IX (in C. meyi , C. admetos ), a subdivision of the preanal appendages (in C. holzschuhi ) or remnant of the periprocts of segment XI. The preanal appendages on segment X are elevated or form setose surfaces only. The elongated apicodorsal and apicoventral setal lobes may represent the intermediate appendages, the paraprocts or periprocts of segment XI. This is a rather heterogeneous, possibly polyphyletic group of species. Four species have short and rather complex harpagones, and 2 species have unusual terminal structures on the phallotheca. The distribution area of the group includes mainland and islands of South-East Asia, i.e. Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines.
