Type Locality: Panamá, Darién Prov., Mt Pirri, headwaters of Río Limón, 4500 ft (1372 m).
Vernacular Names: Mt Pirri Deermouse.
Distribution: Easternmost Panamá and Serranía del Darién, extreme NW Colombia (see Alberico et al., 2000).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Whether I. pirrensis is a junior synonym of I. flavidus , as opined by Hooper (1968), has yet to be assessed.
