( Figures 15–16 View FIGURES 1–18 , 139–140 View FIGURES 125–148 , 251–252, 311, 368, 401).
Tychius hauseri Faust, 1889: 133 View in CoL . Franz, 1942: 261. Caldara, 1990: 130.
Material examined. CHINA: Shanxi: Wutaixian Beigaohongkou , 1000 m, 3-VI-1964, leg Tiesheng Li (1) .
Redescription. Length 2.7–3.5 mm ( Fig. 15–16 View FIGURES 1–18 ). Integument dark brown except for reddish rostrum, antennae and legs; on dorsum with moderately dense and compact, elongate scales white to gray and pale to dark brown; suboval white scales covering lateral and middle of pronotum, elytral interstriae 1 and 7. Rostrum ( Fig. 139– 140 View FIGURES 125–148 ) markedly curved especially at antennal insertion (Rl/Rw 4.00–4.10, Rl/Pl 0.78–0.86 in male; Rl/Rw 4.12– 4.20, Rl/Pl 0.90–0.97 in female), striated on dorsum. Antennal funicle 7-segmented. Eyes slightly prominent. Pronotum subrectangular (Pw/Pl 1.15–1.20), with subrectilinear sides in basal half, weakly convex on dorsum. Elytra subrectangular (El/Ew 1.30–1.52), wider at base than pronotum (Ew/Pw 1.28–1.35). Femora ( Fig. 251–252 View FIGURES 243–274 ) unarmed. Profemora and protibiae ( Fig. 311 View FIGURES 307–339 ) without sexual characters. Claws with robust medial teeth, as long as half of claw. Male genitalia: body of penis ( Fig. 368 View FIGURES 364–371 ) short and wide, nearly parallel-sided, slightly narrowed until near apex, with blunted tip ( Fig. 401 View FIGURES 397–431 ), apodemes slightly longer than body of penis. Female genitalia ( Caldara 1990): spermatheca with parallel-sided short ramus, short robust collum, robust nodulus and robust cornu narrowed in apical portion; spiculum ventrale with arms joined at basal half, then slightly divergent.
Remarks and comparative notes. This species can be distinguished from the other species of this group known from China by the broad white scales arranged on the elytra only on interstriae 1 and 7 and not interspersed on the other interstriae.
Biology. No data are available.
Distribution. Previously known only from the southern part of Russia. New record from China (North China: SHX).
