Type Locality: Indonesia, Sulawesi Tengah, Buol.
Vernacular Names: Heck's Macaque.
Distribution: N Sulawesi, from the base of the northern peninsula northeast to Gorontalo ( Indonesia).
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: M. nemestrina species group. Separated from tonkeana by Groves (2001 c).
