Type (lectotype, designated here): — BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro: N of Rio de Janeiro, Mandiocca, Serra de Estrella, 1817, G. Langsdorff s.n. ( H barcode H 1202754 [digital photo!]).
Nomenclatural notes:—Referring to the type of L. hypogaea, Hansen (1980) wrote: “Type. Langsdorff sn, Brazil, N of Rio de Janeiro, Mandiocca, Serra de Estrella, 1817 (lectotype, LE; isolectotype, H)”. The lectotype of L. hypogaea designated by Hansen (1980) was not found at herbarium LE, probably lost, and the curator of the herbarium is unaware of the existence of this material. Thus, we select here the isolectotype (Langsdorff s.n., H barcode H 1202754; Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ) as a replacement lectotype for L. hypogaea .
