Material examined. New Caledonia: MNHN no registration number (one specimen dissected), Lifou, 4km SE from Wedoumen, 20 Jul. 1979, A. & S. Tillier .

Description. External morphology: Shell 4.1 whorls, white, not glossy; protoconch sculptured with very fine incised spiral grooves; teleoconch with very fine spiral and radial lirae; shell shape as for genus. Animal white, middle part of tripartite foot cream. Sole of foot and caudal apparatus as for genus, caudal horn medium length.

Mantle cavity: As for genus. Mantle with no pigmentation, mantle gland absent.

Digestive system: As for genus.

Genital system ( Figure 39E ): As for genus. Free oviduct long; capsular gland not examined. Bursa copulatrix very short, shorter than free oviduct; duct of bursa copulatrix narrow, distinguishable from bursa copulatrix, internally smooth. Vagina very short. Penis moderately long; epiphallus enters penis through simple pore; penis internally covered in diagonal ridges. Penial sheath present, enclosing only penis; penis retractor muscle attached to junction of penis and epiphallus. Epiphallus much shorter than penis; internal sculpture not examined.

Radula: Not examined.

Remarks. The shell of the specimen examined in the current study matches the type description of Conibycus dahli ( Thiele 1928) , but the anatomical data differs in some respects from that provided by Rensch (1937). In particular, the bursa copulatrix is much shorter and the epiphallus slightly shorter in the specimen examined in the current study. The only member of Euconulidae listed for New Caledonia by Solem (1961), Coneuplecta (Durgellina) calculosa , differs from the specimen examined here. We use the name Coneuplecta (Conibycus) dahli tentatively because the type specimens have not been examined, although the available material agrees well with Thiele’s (1928) description and figure.
