General distribution. Afghanistan ( Hoberlandt 1984), and Caucasian Region and Central Asia including, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan.

Host plants. On Triticum sp. ( Poaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997a, b; Khanjani 2006), Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1997b), wild Poaceae ( Modarres Awal 1996a; Linnavuori 2008; Nateq Golestan et al. 2011), Brachiaria eruciformis (Poaceae) , Trifolium sp. ( Fabaceae ) (Sakenin et al. 2008), Atriplex sp. ( Amaranthaceae ) and Hordeum vulgare (Poaceae) ( Nateq Golestan & Modarres Awal 2012). It has been mentioned on several other Poaceae such as Agropyrum caespitosum , A. pectiniforme , Alopecurus arundinaceus , Arrhenatherum kotchsyi , Boisseria squarrosa , Bromus lanceolatus ( Derjanschi & Péricart 2005) .
