Specimens examined: CHINA: Yunnan Province: Xiaomengyang, Xishuangbanna (100°48΄E, 22°4΄N), 1 male, alt. 850m, 3. IV. 1957, Dahua Liu leg.; ditto, 1 male, alt. 810m, 26. III. 1957, Dahua Liu leg.. Damenglong, Xishuangbanna (100°40΄E, 21°37΄N), 1 female, 7. IV. 1958; ditto, 1 male, 18. IV. 1958; ditto, 1 female, 13. VI. 1957; ditto, 1 female, 13. IV. 1957. V. 2000, Wenjun Bu leg.; ditto, 1 males, alt. 1100m, 24. V. 2000, Leyi Zheng leg..

Diagnosis: Recognized by yellowish brown body, vertex width 1.6–1.7 times eye width, antennal segment II yellowish brown with apical portion brown, length 2.2–2.5 times head width (included eyes), scutellum lateral margin with yellowish white spot, femur yellowish brown, without rings.

Male genitalia: Left paramere strong, sensory lobe with sharpened angle prominent, covered with sparse setae, hypophysis broadly wide, apical portion with a hook; right paramere slender, sensory lobe rounded, hypophysis apically falciform; vesica with membranous lobes and 5 sclerotized appendages. Distribution: China (Yunnan).

Discussion: Comparison of specimens of Deraeocoris luteolus Xu & Liu with the original description ( Poppius, 1915a) and the illustration of the male genitalia of C. parviceps in the redescription by Nakatani (2001), indicate that the two species are synonyms. Consequently, D. luteolus becomes a junior synonym of C. parviceps .
