Type specimens: Holotype: male, CHINA: Shuiman, Wuzhishan Mt. (109°39΄E, 18°52΄N), Hainan Province, alt. 650m, 17. V. 2007, Xu Zhang leg.. Paratypes: 1 male, 2 female, same data as holotype; 5 males, 3 females, CHINA: Baishuiling, Diaoluoshan Mt.(109°54’E, 18°43΄N), Hainan Province, alt. 600m, 29. V. 2007, Pengzhi Dong leg..

Diagnosis: Recognized by yellowish brown body, vertex width 1.0–1.8 times eye width, antennal segment II yellowish brown, apical portion blackish brown, length 1.7 times head width (included eyes), pronotum dark yellowish brown with faint pale spots, femur yellowish brown, apical portion with two blackish brown rings. Similar in habitus and body size to C. parviceps , but C. flavimaculus has distinct rings on apical portion of femur and indistinct yellow spots behind each callus, and distinctively diagnostic male genitalia.

Description: Body oval, shining, dark yellowish brown, covered with pale setae.

Head projected, shining; frons with a distinct blackish brown triangle spot; vertex with two lateral lines; eyes reddish brown; clypeus blackish brown, with sparse short setae. Antennae with dense pale pubescence, segment I cylindrical, dark brown, slightly narrowed at base; segment II yellowish brown, apical portion reddish brown; segment III and IV blackish brown. Labium yellowish brown, extending to mesocoxa. Pronotum shining, with punctures; collar smooth, pale yellow, posterior margins blackish brown; calli yellowish brown, margins dark, shining, merged anteriorly, slightly raised, with hollow near each anterolateral margin; disc with two indistinct yellowish brown spots; posterior margins concavely sinuate. Scutellum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) dark yellowish brown, without punctures, lateral margin with yellowish white spot. Hemelytron shining, covered with coarse, reddish brown punctures, cuneus reddish brown, yellowish brown at base; membrane pale brown, with pale spots near cuneus, veins reddish brown. Leg yellowish brown, apical portion of femur with two blackish brown rings, tibia subbasal and apical portion blackish brown, tarsus and claw blackish brown. Venter blackish brown, with dense pale pubescence. Ostiolar peritreme pale yellowish white.

Male genitalia: Left paramere ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ) strong, sensory lobe elongated, protuberance, with sparse long setae, hypophysis depressed, apical portion ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ) with a hook; right paramere ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ) stout, apical portion bent, apex sharp; vesica ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ) with membranous lobes and 4 sclerotized appendages.

Distribution: China (Hainan).

Etymology: Named for the indistinct yellow spots on its pronotum.
