Nesophontes hypomicrus Miller 1929 , Smithson. Misc. Coll., 81: 4.

Type Locality: Haití, 4 mi. (6.4 km) east of St. Michel, cave near the Atalaya plantation.

Vernacular Names: Atalaya Nesophontes.

Distribution: Haití and Gonave Isl.

Conservation: IUCN – Extinct.

Discussion: Bones sometimes found associated with Rattus bones. Remains of N. hypomicrus and N. zamicrus collected in a cave in Dominican Republic dated from the 13th century ( MacPhee et al., 1999).
