Glossidiella Travassos, 1927
Glossidiella ornata Travassos, 1927 View in CoL
Host and records: Hydrodynastes gigas (Duméril, Bibron & Duméril, 1854) (ER, C, Ch, BA) Site of infection: mouth, lung.
Material deposited: MLP 1044 D.
References: Caubisens Poumarou (1968), Lunaschi & Sutton (1985), Martínez et al. (1996). Comments: Travassos (1927, 1928) used two very similar generic names: Glassidiella and Glossidiella. Caubisens Poumarou and Lunaschi & Sutton consider that the generic name is Glassidiella. On the basis of this common usage and stability, this name is also retained here, although according to the law of priority the Glassidiella Travassos, 1927 should theoretically be re-established.
