Type Locality: India, Bihar, Chaibassa (restricted by J. Anderson, 1881).
Vernacular Names: Tickell's Bat.
Synonyms: Hesperoptenus (Milithronycteris) isabellinus Horsfield 1851 ; Hesperoptenus (Milithronycteris) isabellinus Kelaart 1850 .
Distribution: India (including Andaman Isls), Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, perhaps SW China.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Milithronycteris . Reviewed by Bates and Harrison (1997) and Hendrichsen et al. (2001 b).
