Lectotype (Hitchcock in Contr. U. S. Natl. Herb. 12: 125. 1908): Herb. Linn. No. 1211.1 ( LINN) .

Current name: Erianthus alopecuroides (L.) Elliott ( Poaceae ).

Note: Specific epithet spelled “divaricatum” in the protologue. See also Fernald (in Rhodora 45: 252. 1943), who illustrates both the lectotype (pl. 761, f. 3, 4) and Clayton 600 (pl. 761, f. 5).
