Distribution: Pantropical and subtropical.

Records in Mexico: Jalisco, Veracruz, Guerrero, Morelos, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, Puebla, Yucatan and Campeche Biogeographic province : Pacific Lowlands. Transmexican Volcanic Belt. Veracruzan. Balsas Basin. Sierra Madre Oriental. Yucatan Peninsula.

Habitat: Leaf litter and soil of medium sub evergreen forest, lowland forest, mangrove and halophyte vegetation. Soil and litter of Astrocaryum mexicanum and Guarea glabra, Canopy. Decaying trunks of Bursera simaruba and Spondias mombin . Roots and litter in a cave. Beside trail to ruins, 200 m a.s.l., dense lower tropical moist forest, partially–decayed leaf litter with pieces of wood, moist. Pinus oocarpa litter, coffee plantations litter, tropical forest.
