Records in Mexico: Guerrero, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Campeche, Hidalgo and Colima.
Biogeographic province: Transmexican Volcanic Belt. Sierra Madre Oriental. Yucatan Peninsula. Pacific Lowlands. Chihuahuan Desert.
Habitat: Palm leaves, plant in soil. Soil, litter and detritus of a cave. Soil Cave. Collected on epiphytes: Aechmea bracteata growing on Haematoxylum campechianum and Metopium brownei . Xerophytic shrub, composed mainly of succulents and cacti ( Myrtillocactus geometrizans ).

Remarks: Amerioppia sp. is included here because it is the only record of this genus in Mexico. Hammer (1969) does not provide the exact location of the collection site for his species reports.
