The species has also been introduced into North America, some Atlantic and Pacific islands ( Zapparoli 2009), and is widespread in the Caucasus ( Zalesskaja and Schileiko 1991). In the Abrau Peninsula, the species occurs in the leaf litter and soil layer, under the bark of dead broadleaf trees ( Q. petraea , F. orientalis , C. caucasica ) forests.
